Although very pretty, their fales were less traditional and the plastic sheet blinds were noisy in the wind. I can't complain though, since everything was rebuilt after 2009. Some of the plastic sheets were printed with Government aid logos, undoubtedly from the support Samoa received for the tsunami. It was a bit weird seeing them, and reminded me of refugee camps.

Here we are at Lalomanu, my last stop in Samoa. Lalomanu was hit hard by the 2009 tsunami, and there were many razed foundations it the area.

The smaller boat was much less stable than the large ferry. Larger waves made it over the sides and soaked the cars from time to time. I hope they rinse their vehicles off afterwards to prevent corrosion!

Sadly, our ferry today is the smaller ship, the MV Samoa Express, with no indoor deck. We made sure to grab a shady spot for the trip.

Afu Aau Waterfall, a well-known swimming hole. In the dry times, the waterfall dissappears, but an underwater spring keeps the water fresh and flowing. This is the top pool of a series of pools and cascades.
