There's some interesting mini-caves that are part of the arch.
Heading back up. View of the exit arch/cave. That's pretty convenient there's an access cave to this beach. Otherwise getting down here would be pretty difficult with the coral rock cliffs.
Close-up look at one of the many little azure potholes.
Video of the waves being reduced to small sweeping sheets of water by the reef. OK, I promise, this is the last photo or video of just waves... for a while.
It looks like some kind of seaweed is growing on the outer reefs. It's pretty amazing they manage to flourish there even with all the pounding from the waves.
More pictures of waves crashing against the reef. You can see the remnant of the previous wave starting to sweep across the coral ledge on this side of the reef.
Waves crashing on the reef at the edge of Tautu Beach.
Video of Tautu Beach. I really like how the large waves abruptly break on the protective coral barrier, sending out only it's tiny remnants to wash over the coral shelf like a muted shock wave. You feel close to the waves here, but are not significantly affected by them.
View up north along the coast. I enjoyed looking at the large waves from the side. In some places, once in a while, it would look as if a hulking triangular mountain of water forms and then disappears.
The famous Liku rock on the beach, guarding a tiny rough sand cove.
